Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico’s Third District released the following statement today following President Obama’s speech on fiscal policy.

“I was pleased to hear the President voice his strong opposition to the House Republicans’ budget proposal that ends Medicare as we know it and places a greater burden on our seniors.  In order to fulfill the promise we have made to America’s seniors, we must protect Medicare and Social Security.  I fully support President Obama’s call to end the Bush tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires in this country.  Continuing down a path that provides these wealthy few with tax cuts on the backs of middle-class families is unconscionable.”
