Lujan Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico’s Third District released the following video in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

“This is an exciting time for the Hispanic community. Every year from September 15th to October 15th, America comes together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. It represents an opportunity to reflect on the enduring contributions of a community that has strengthened the fabric of a nation.

“As the fastest growing ethnic group, the future of our country is increasingly in the hands of Hispanic families and communities. I encourage the community to continue to seize the opportunity to contribute their voices to the most important policy discussions that impact our future. From education and energy, to immigration, the economy and more – the perspectives and contributions of the Hispanic community will continue to make America stronger.

“This month, as we gather to recognize the Hispanic community and our rich culture and traditions – from the way we speak and the food we eat to our values and principals and intellectual contributions – let us embrace them all. I look forward to celebrating the history and numerous contributions of the Hispanic community this month, and encourage you to do the same.”
