Luján Statement Condemning Trump Administration Attacks on the Affordable Care Act
Washington, D.C. – U.S. House Assistant Speaker Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) issued the following statement on the passage of a resolution condemning the Trump administration’s attacks on the Affordable Care Act:
“Health care should not be a partisan or political game. Sick children should be able to see a doctor and patients should be able to receive the high-quality care they need without the risk of financial ruin.
“I am disgusted that President Trump is attempting to circumvent the will of the American people and the Congress to end protections guaranteed by the Affordable Care Act by refusing to defend the law within the courts. House Democrats will continue to fight for Americans’ right to health care as long as President Trump and congressional Republican continue to threaten it.”
