Rep. Luján to Host Veterans and Armed Services Discussions in Rio Rancho and Los Alamos

On Wednesday, September 8, 2010 Congressman Luján will visit with constituents in Rio Rancho and Los Alamos to discuss opportunities with the armed services and support for veterans returning to New Mexico. He will begin the day with a forum on PTSD in Rio Rancho followed by Academy Days in both Rio Rancho and Los Alamos. Additionally, he will meet with members of his Veterans Advisory Panel to discuss local veterans issues and national policy.

The forum on PTSD will focus on the new regulations from the Veterans Administration that went into effect on July 13, and it will serve as an opportunity to listen to representatives from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and several other groups who are working on the issue.

The Academy Days serve as a time for students, families and counselors to learn about opportunities with military academies representing each branch of the armed services. Attendees will have the chance to discuss different service options and meet with academy representatives.
